03:36 PM EDT, 08/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Duke Energy ( DUK ) submitted its final license application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the Bad Creek Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Station in Oconee County, South Carolina, to extend plant operations for an additional 50 years.

A decision on the application is expected from regulators in 2027, ahead of the current license's expiration in July of that year, Duke said Friday in a statement.
