01:19 PM EDT, 03/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Duke Energy ( DUK ) subsidiary Duke Energy Progress filed a request Friday with the Public Service Commission of South Carolina to approve a 76-megawatt solar farm.
Duke Energy Progress will own and build the facility, with construction anticipated to start in 2026 and full operation in 2027.
The solar farm will be adjacent to the existing Robinson nuclear power plant in Chesterfield and Darlington counties, the company said.
