12:54 PM EST, 02/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- DuPont de Nemours ( DD ) reported stronger-than-expected fourth-quarter growth amid higher volumes, while projecting organic revenue acceleration in 2025.
Revenue rose to $3.09 billion for the three-month period ended Dec. 31 from $2.9 billion the year earlier and surpassed the $3.07 billion average analyst estimate on FactSet. Adjusted earnings per share jumped to $1.13 from $0.87 and beat the Street's $0.98 view.
Shares of the industrial materials manufacturer were up 8% in midday trade.
"DuPont ( DD ) closed out a year of strong financial performance with solid fourth-quarter results as we saw continued strength in electronics end-markets and a return to year-over-year top-line growth in water and protection, driven by further improvement in water and medical packaging end-markets," Chief Executive Lori Koch said in a statement.
In DuPont's ( DD ) electronics and industrial division, sales advanced 11% to $1.51 billion, led by an 11% increase in organic volume that was partially offset by a dip in prices. Sales of semiconductor technologies were up by a low-teens percentage on an organic basis, led by demand related to artificial intelligence apps, the company said.
Water and protection sales increased 6% to $1.36 billion amid higher volumes. Safety solutions revenue grew by a high-single digit on an organic basis, while water solutions increased by a low-double digit.
For 2025, DuPont ( DD ) guided revenue in the $12.8 billion to $12.9 billion range, compared with the analysts' $12.89 billion estimate. The outlook assumes year-over-year organic growth in the mid-single digits, Chief Financial Officer Antonella Franzen said. In 2024, DuPont's ( DD ) organic sales rose 1%.
The company forecast adjusted EPS in the $4.30 to $4.40 range for the ongoing year, growing over the $4.07 non-GAAP EPS DuPont reported for 2024. The market view is for adjusted EPS of $4.37 in 2025.
DuPont ( DD ) expects first-quarter sales at $3.03 billion, which Franzen said assumes mid-single-digit organic growth. Analysts surveyed by FactSet are modeling for sales of $3.05 billion in the current quarter. The company guided for adjusted EPS of $0.95, a penny ahead of the FactSet consensus.
