09:21 AM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- E3 Lithium ( EEMMF ) earlier on Tuesday said that commissioning of Phase 1 of the Demonstration Facility has begun and is on schedule.
The company said the Phase 1 involves operating the 30-column DLE system and polishing and purification equipment. It expects the initial DLE System to take about one week to full commission.
Tuesday's statement noted the purification units will later on be initialized and lithium chloride produced from the DLE System will flow through this system, completing the commissioning stages of Phase 1. It said the demonstration facility will shift to full operations once both the DLE System and purification units have completed their respective commissioning stages. The main goals of Phase 1 are to ensure the equipment is in operating order after assembly, confirm both systems functionality under real-time operating conditions and produce a high-quality lithium chloride for conversion into battery-grade lithium carbonate, it added.
E3 Lithium ( EEMMF ) said it has sufficient brine on site to enable the operation of the Phase 1 DLE and purification units into early Q4, 2025, and the company expects to provide updates as operations progress and results become available. "The commissioning of Phase 1 of our Demonstration Facility highlights the equipment is in full working order and is an exciting next step for the advancement of this facility," said Chris Doornbos, President and CEO. "The results from Phase 1 will ensure that our process is fully optimized and ready for Phase 2 of the Demonstration Facility that is set to begin later this fall."
Shares of the company closed up 2.1% to $1.49 on Friday on the TSX Venture Exchange.
