11:06 AM EDT, 04/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Eagle Materials ( EXP ) said Tuesday that Texas Lehigh Cement, a 50/50 joint venture between the company and Heidelberg Materials North America, is expected to start operating slag facility in Houston this summer.

Construction of the facility is "substantially complete," Eagle said, adding that it will have a manufacturing capacity of about 500,000 tons a year.

Eagle shares were 2.6% lower in recent trading.
