Analysts polled by FactSet expected $2.37.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30, calculated as the sum of net interest income and total noninterest income, was $778 million, up from $657.1 million a year ago.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $724.8 million.

The company's board maintained a quarterly dividend of $0.60 a share, payable on Nov. 17 to shareholders of record on Nov. 3.
