Mar 28, 2024 8:23 AM

10:57 AM EDT, 03/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Eastman Chemical ( EMN ) said Thursday its new molecular recycling facility in Kingsport, Tennessee has begun production and is now generating revenue, putting the plant on track to deliver roughly $75 million in incremental EBITDA this year.

The company, which recycles materials including hard-to-recycle plastic wastes into a wide range of products, said the new facility's production is expected to pick up in the coming months as demand remains strong.

Additionally, Eastman said it plans to invest in two additional molecular recycling plants, one in France and another US site. The costs and timetable weren't disclosed.
