EBay Gets Dismissal of US Lawsuit Alleging Unlawful Sale of Harmful Products

03:18 PM EDT, 09/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- EBay ( EBAY ) was granted motion to dismiss a US government lawsuit on Monday accusing it of selling and distributing several harmful products in violation of the Clean Air Act and other environmental laws.

US District Judge Orelia E. Merchant in Brooklyn dismissed the complaint filed by the US Department of Justice on behalf of the US Environmental Protection Agency.

The e-commerce giant was accused of unlawfully selling harmful products, including pesticides and those that contain methylene chloride.

eBay ( EBAY ), the DOJ and the EPA did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment

Shares of eBay ( EBAY ) were up 1.5% in recent trading.
