eBay Reportedly Under French Probe for Allegedly Selling Illicit Goods
Nov 25, 2025 6:01 AM

08:28 AM EST, 11/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- eBay ( EBAY ) is under investigation by the Paris prosecutors for allegedly selling illicit goods, multiple news outlets reported Tuesday, citing the French prosecutor's office.

The investigation was launched after a consumer advocacy organization, DGCCRF, found sales of illicit goods on eBay's ( EBAY ) marketplace and other e-commerce portals, Reuters reported.

The investigation follows probes launched earlier this month against Alibaba's (BABA) AliExpress, Shein, Temu, and Wish, the website of French public radio FranceInfo said.

eBay ( EBAY ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
