EchoStar Launches Open RAN Center Backed by $50 Million Grant From Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund

11:37 AM EDT, 07/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- EchoStar ( SATS ) said Monday it launched Open RAN Center for Integration and Deployment with the $50 million grant from the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund.

The facility, which offers vendors the opportunity to test and validate O-RAN solutions, is located in EchoStar's ( SATS ) data center at Cheyenne, Wyoming, according to the company.

The grant was announced by the US Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration six months ago, EchoStar ( SATS ) added.
