08:45 AM EDT, 07/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- EHang Holdings ( EH ) , a Chinese drone maker, said Monday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with a China Southern Airlines unit to provide support for low-altitude flight services.

EHang ( EH ) said its partnership with China Southern Airlines General Aviation will focus on the flight operations, support and other aspects of EHang's ( EH ) pilotless electric vertical take-off and landing operations.

The companies plan to form EH216-S operation demonstration sites for low-altitude tourism in Zhuhai, China, with the objective of launching routine low-altitude flight services and experiential activities, EHang ( EH ) said.

The company said the partnership will also look into developing various use cases for pilotless eVTOL aircraft in islands near Zhuhai, including cargo transportation and emergency response.
