02:28 PM EST, 11/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Elanco Animal Health ( ELAN ) received emergency use authorization from the US Food and Drug Administration for its Credelio CAT treatment for New World screwworm in felines.

The authorization was supported by studies showing Credelio CAT's potential effectiveness, backed by prior research on Old World screwworm in cats and New World screwworm in dogs, Elanco said Friday in a statement.

New World screwworm, spread by flies laying eggs in open wounds, was reported 70 miles south of the US-Mexico border, the company said.

Elanco shares rose 4.2% in recent Friday trading.
