08:14 AM EDT, 09/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Electra Battery Materials ( ELBM ) , said Wednesday it completed its early works program at its cobalt refinery north of Toronto.

"This milestone brings us closer to resuming full construction of the refinery," said Mark Trevisiol, vice president of projects. "By completing these preparatory works and advancing long-lead procurement, we are positioning the refinery for efficient and timely execution once construction resumes."

Shares of Electra closed down 1.6% at $1.23 Tuesday on the TSX Venture Exchange.
