07:54 AM EDT, 05/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Element 1, a developer of hydrogen generation systems used in the fuel cell industry, and Ballard Power Systems ( BLDP ) , said on Wednesday that they have teamed up to "accelerate the adoption of sustainable hydrogen energy solutions".
Under the partnership, the companies have paired Ballard's FCwave 200-kW fuel cell module with Element 1's M/L18 hydrogen generator to produce high-purity hydrogen in the range of 0.7 to 2.2 barg.
"With a simple software upgrade, any deployed FCwaveTM may be coupled to an M/L18 hydrogen generator to achieve immediate savings on operational costs. And if renewable methanol is used, the carbon intensity of the resulting electrical power will be very low," Dave Edlund, co-founder and CEO of Element 1, said.
Ballard, which was up 0.5% in Canada yesterday, slipped 0.6% in premarket U.S. trading on Wednesday.
