Eli Lilly Plans to Build $6.5 Billion Manufacturing Facility in Houston

01:35 PM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Eli Lilly ( LLY ) said Tuesday it plans to build a $6.50 billion facility to produce active pharmaceutical ingredients in Houston, Texas.

The firm said the facility will also manufacture orforglipron, which it expects to submit to regulatory agencies for obesity by the end of this year. It expects the site to be operational within five years.
