Elon Musk Withdraws Lawsuit Against OpenAI, CEO Sam Altman
Jun 12, 2024 4:18 AM

06:51 AM EDT, 06/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Billionaire Elon Musk on Tuesday moved to dismiss his lawsuit accusing OpenAI and its chief executive officer, Sam Altman, of abandoning the startup's original goal of developing artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity rather than profit, according to a filing in San Francisco Superior Court.

Musk attorneys asked the San Francisco Superior Court to dismiss the lawsuit without prejudice, allowing it to be refiled later.

The court was scheduled to hear on Wednesday OpenAI's motion to dismiss the lawsuit, which was originally filed in February.

OpenAI did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
