03:48 AM EDT, 10/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Embraer ( ERJ ) said Thursday that its E190F freighter plane has been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Embraer's ( ERJ ) passenger-to-freighter conversion and cargo loading system, which was developed by US Cargo Systems, received the FAA certification by last month and certification by Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency in July.

European Union Aviation Safety Agency certification is due later this year, Embraer ( ERJ ) said.

Converted freighters have over 40% more volume capacity than large cargo turboprops and up to 30% lower operating costs than larger narrowbodies, the company said.
