April 28 (Reuters) - Emera Inc ( EMRAF ) and its
subsidiary Nova Scotia Power are addressing a cybersecurity
incident involving unauthorized access to parts of their
Canadian network and servers, the companies said on Monday.
The energy providers discovered the threat on Friday and
took steps to contain and isolate the affected servers, and
prevent further intrusion, they said.
"There remains no disruption to any of our Canadian physical
operations," including Nova Scotia Power's generation,
transmission and distribution facilities, the Maritime Link or
the Brunswick Pipeline, the companies added.
The 145-km (90-mile) Brunswick Pipeline transports natural
gas from New Brunswick, Canada, to an interconnection with the
much longer 878-km Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline near the
U.S.-Canadian border.
