08:14 AM EDT, 08/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Emerita Resources ( EMOTF ) said Tuesday that it discovered "mineralized gossans" on its Nuevo Tintillo project in Spain during ongoing mapping/prospecting surveys as part of a surface exploration program.
The company said it received high-grade gold assay results from sampling gossan mineralization, which was interpreted by Emerita to represent underlying massive to semi-massive sulfide mineralization.
Emerita said the new mineralized zone is located about 1.5 kilometers to the northwest of the historic Santa Flora copper mine.
"We see a very similar relationship at the Iberian Belt West Project, specifically the gold-rich gossan that overlies La Romanera deposit and two parallel mineralized horizons," said Joaquin Merino, Emerita's president. "Work continues to further develop this exciting new prospect and prepare it for future drill testing."
