Enbridge CEO Says Northern Gateway Pipeline Would be Hard to Revive, Bloomberg Reports
Feb 14, 2025 9:05 AM

11:30 AM EST, 02/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Enbridge ( ENB ) Chief Executive Greg Ebel said Friday on Bloomberg Television that the scrapped Northern Gateway oil pipeline proposal would be difficult to revive without major legislative changes in Canada.

The pipeline, which would have moved oil from Alberta to a port in British Columbia, was halted by a court order in 2016 before being rejected by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. However, given President Donald Trump's threats to impose tariffs on imports from Canada, there is renewed momentum for projects that would reduce Canadian dependence on the US, according to the report.
