Energy Fuels Produces First Kilogram of Dysprosium Oxide at White Mesa Mill, On Track to Start Terbium Production in Q4
Aug 21, 2025 4:38 AM

07:08 AM EDT, 08/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy Fuels ( UUUU ) , a U.S. producer of uranium, rare earths, and critical minerals, on Thursday said it has completed production of its first kilogram of dysprosium oxide at pilot scale at the White Mesa Mill in Utah.

The company achieved a purity of 99.9% Dy, exceeding the 99.5% commercial specification. The mill is expected to continue producing dysprosium oxide at a rate of 2 kilograms per week.

Energy Fuels ( UUUU ) believes it is the first U.S. company to both produce high-purity Dy oxide and publicly disclose actual production volumes and purities.

The oxides are being produced from monazite mined in Florida and Georgia.

Pilot-scale production will continue until about 15 kg of Dy oxide are produced. At that point, Energy Fuels ( UUUU ) intends to produce high purity terbium oxide and is targeting the fourth quarter for the first samples of Tb oxide to be available for end-user validation.

Energy Fuels ( UUUU ) is planning to install large-scale dysprosium, terbium and potentially other "heavy" rare earth oxide production capacity at the White Mesa Mill by the fourth quarter of 2026.

Energy Fuels' ( UUUU ) share price at last look rose 4.2% to US$8.88 in U.S. pre-market trading on Thursday.
