Energy Fuels to Resume Ore Transport After Agreement With Navajo Nation
Jan 29, 2025 6:00 AM

08:42 AM EST, 01/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy Fuels ( UUUU ) on Wednesday said ore transportation across Navajo Nation territory will resume next month after it signed an agreement with the Nation.

Ore transport from Energy Fuels' ( UUUU ) Pinyon Plain Mine in northern Arizona to the company's White Mesa Mill in southern Utah had been halted since August.

Energy Fuels ( UUUU ) will add additional protections and accommodations as part of the agreement, including limiting transportation to specified routes and hours of the day; not transporting ore on days involving Navajo Nation celebrations or public events; and detailing emergency response procedures, notice and reporting requirements. Navajo Nation officials may also inspect the haul trucks.

The company will also transport up to 10,000 tons of uranium-bearing cleanup materials from abandoned mines within the Navajo Nation, a legacy of old U.S. government uranium programs that began in the 1940s.

Energy Fuels ( UUUU ) was last seen up US$0.05, to US$5.32, in U.S. premarket trading.
