09:48 AM EDT, 10/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy Vault ( NRGV ) said Thursday it acquired and plans to develop SOSA Energy Center, a 150 MW/300 MWh battery energy storage system in Madison County, Texas.

The project was originally developed by Shell (SHEL) unit Savion, the company said.

The acquisition, under Energy Vault's ( NRGV ) Asset Vault investment platform, will be backed by a $300 million preferred equity investment by Orion Infrastructure Capital, in addition to the monetization of Federal Investment Tax Credit-related funds, Energy Vault ( NRGV ) said.
