The clinical-stage company said the appointment is part of a previously disclosed succession plan for Jason Hanson, who would remain a strategic adviser for the company.

Cooper was most recently CEO and president of Albireo Pharma, a global commercial biopharmaceutical company, EnGene ( ENGN ) said.
