Sep 11, 2024 4:27 AM

05:51 PM EDT, 09/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- EnGene ( ENGN ) reported late Tuesday a fiscal Q3 net loss of $0.32 a share, narrowing from the loss of $8.55 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected a loss of $0.39.

In the three months ended July 31, the weighted average of shares outstanding was 44.2 million versus 701,323 a year earlier.

The company said its net loss in the quarter widened to $14.1 million from the loss of $5.99 million a year earlier, mainly because of higher operating expenses.

The company's cash and cash equivalents as of July 31 were $257.7 million, supporting operations into 2027.
