Eni Unit Opens Recycled Polymer Production Plant in Italy

02:32 PM EDT, 03/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Eni (E) chemical unit Versalis opened a new recycled polymer production plant in Porto Marghera, Italy.

The facility has an annual production capacity of up to 20,000 metric tons of crystal polystyrene and expandable polystyrene, using secondary raw materials obtained from the recycling of expanded polystyrene waste, the company said Monday in a statement.

The materials produced at the new plant contain 35% to 100% post-consumer recycled plastics and are primarily intended for the packaging and construction sectors, Eni said.
