10:26 AM EDT, 03/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Entergy ( ETR ) unit Entergy Louisiana said Friday it has agreed to an expanded power supply contract with Meta Platforms ( META ) to support the technology company's Northeast Louisiana computing facility.
The updated arrangement is projected to generate $2 billion in savings for the utility's consumer base over a 20-year span, raising the total expected value from the partnership to $2.65 billion, according to the statement.
Meta will finance the complete operational expenses for the site while contributing $120 million to a utility assistance program alongside $140 million for energy efficiency projects, Entergy Louisiana said.
To power the development, Entergy Louisiana plans to construct seven natural gas facilities with over 5,200 megawatts of capacity and 240 miles of transmission lines at Meta's expense, according to Entergy Louisiana.
The agreement also includes Meta's commitment to fund up to 2,500 megawatts of new solar capacity and was submitted under the state's recently adopted regulatory framework for large economic projects, Entergy Louisiana said.
Entergy ( ETR ) shares were up 7% in Friday trading.
