06:32 AM EDT, 03/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said Wednesday it is moving forward with 31 deregulatory actions, including reconsiderations of rules on power plants, oil and gas operations, vehicles, and wastewater management.
EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said the measures align with President Donald Trump's agenda to strengthen the energy and automotive industries, reduce costs for consumers, and expand state regulatory authority.
As part of the initiative, the EPA is terminating Biden-era Environmental Justice and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs, as well as the Good Neighbor Plan.
Other planned regulatory changes include, restructuring the Regional Haze Program and prioritizing coal ash program reforms to expedite state permit reviews and update coal ash regulations, the agency said.
