02:23 PM EDT, 08/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Equinor ( EQNR ) has restarted its Hammerfest LNG terminal after more than three months of scheduled maintenance, media outlets reported Monday.

The plant, located on Melkoya island in Arctic Norway, had been offline since April 22 and was originally scheduled to restart on July 19, but delays pushed the reopening to Aug. 3, Reuters reported.

The facility processes about 6.5 billion cubic meters of gas annually, accounting for roughly 5% of Norway's gas exports, according to the reports.

"Operations resumed yesterday following a planned turnaround. The first LNG vessel is expected shortly," an Equinor ( EQNR ) spokesperson told MT Newswires.
