04:26 AM EDT, 06/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- US equity futures were up in recent premarket activity Tuesday, while oil fell following the announcement of a ceasefire deal between Iran and Israel that US President Donald Trump said he brokered.
"The ceasefire is now in effect," Trump said in a social media post. "Please do not violate it."
Dow Jones futures were up 0.6%, while S&P 500 futures advanced 0.8%. Nasdaq futures were 1.1% higher.
Oil dropped on the news, with West Texas Intermediate crude futures down 2.9% at $66.51 and Brent falling 3% to $68.41.
