Essential Utilities to Invest $26M in Pennsylvania Data Center Project

07:59 AM EDT, 08/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Essential Utilities ( WTRG ) said Wednesday it has entered into an agreement with International Electric Power to invest $26 million in a 1,400 acre, data center facility in Greene County, Pennsylvania.

The company added that through its subsidiary, Aqua, it plans to design, build, and operate an 18 million gallons per day water treatment plant to service the power plant and data center.

It further noted that through its another subsidiary, Peoples, it will provide gas consulting services and energy management services to the project.

The project is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2029, it noted.
