Apr 10, 2024 4:09 AM

06:59 AM EDT, 04/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- ETAS GmbH, a service provider for the development of automotive software, and BlackBerry QNX, a business unit of BlackBerry Ltd. ( BB ) , said Wednesday that they have agreed to jointly sell and market software services designed to accelerate the development of safety-critical functions for next-generation software-defined vehicles.

Under the partnership, the companies will provide pre-integrated software leveraging ETAS middleware RTA-VRTE based on AUTOSAR Adaptive, and the QNX Operating System to provide a "high-performance and safe foundation" for the development of microprocessor-based vehicle computer/domain controller electronic control units.

The partnership will also cover ETAS' automotive firewall and host-based intrusion detection technology, which will let automakers and their suppliers implement continuous security monitoring in compliance with UN-R 155 and ISO/SAE 21434 standards.

The company's stock, which rose 7.4% in Canada yesterday, when it announced collaboration with AMD, remained unchanged in premarket US trading on Wednesday.
