06:56 AM EDT, 10/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission said Friday that its proposal to impose tariffs on imports of battery electric vehicles from China has gained necessary support from the bloc's member states.
The Commission said it will publish a Commission Implementing Regulation outlining the definitive findings of its anti-subsidy investigation by Oct. 30.
The Commission said discussions between the EU and China are ongoing to explore potential solutions that align with World Trade Organization rules and adequately address the subsidization issue.
