10:12 AM EDT, 05/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Euronet Worldwide ( EEFT ) said Thursday it has closed the acquisition of the Malaysian Electronic Payment System ATM terminals of Malaysia's national payments network and central financial infrastructure, Payments Network Malaysia or PayNet.

The company said the integration of about 800 ATM terminals into its existing independent ATM network makes it the largest non-bank ATM terminal operator in the Southeast Asian country.

The MEPS ATMs were fully transferred to the company as of April 1, with a rebranding to the company's brand to be completed in 2025, Euronet ( EEFT ) said.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
