11:11 AM EDT, 04/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts fell Tuesday morning, down 0.5% to 1,373.3 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by food company Oatly ( OTLY ) and clinical-stage pharmaceutical company Addex Therapeutics ( ADXN ) , which rose 14% and 8.6% respectively.
They were followed by pharmaceutical and health-care company Sanofi ( SNY ) and biopharmaceutical company Morphosys ( MOR ) , which added 1.5% and 1.4% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by Spanish banks BBVA (BBVA) and Santander (SAN), which fell 4.9% and 3.9% respectively.
They were followed by tech company Opera (OPRA), which was shedding 3.1%.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by Mereo BioPharma ( MREO ) and HSBC ( HSBC ) , which rose 4.4% and 4.2% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by insurance company Prudential (PUK) and telecom group Vodafone ( VOD ) , which were declining 5.3% and 2.7% respectively.
