European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Ease Wednesday

11:14 AM EDT, 03/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts eased Wednesday morning, dropping 0.3% to 1,351.185 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET) and biotech firm Biophytis ( BPTS ) , which rose 9.4% and 8.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Grifols ( GRFS ) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which increased 3.4% and 1.6% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which fell 6.6% and 5.1% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) and electronics company Philips (PHG), which were down 3.3% and 2.3% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech companies Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) and Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which rose 4.4% and 2.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Amarin ( AMRN ) and pharmaceutical company Avadel Pharmaceuticals ( AVDL ) , which were 2.2% and 2% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by insurance firm Prudential (PUK) and biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) , which dropped 6% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which were down 3.7% and 3.4% respectively.
