From continental Europe, the gainers were led by consumer goods giant Unilever ( UL ) and kidney dialysis company Fresenius Medical Care ( FMS ) , which rose 2.9% and 2.3%, respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC) and oil and gas company Eni (E), which were up 1.9% and 1.8%, respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by telecommunications company VEON (VEON), which fell 8.3%, followed by biotech firm Biophytis ( BPTS ) , which declined 7.5%. Semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) was down 4.3% and 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET) declined 3.8%.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by software firm Endava ( DAVA ) and biopharmaceutical firm Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) , which rose 5.8% and 3%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and mining company BHP Group ( BHP ) , which added 1.5% and 1.1%, respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) and Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which lost 9.9% and 9.6%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) , which lost 6.2%, and biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which retreated 3.1%.
