11:14 AM EDT, 03/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking moderately lower Thursday morning, falling 0.75% to 1,362.82 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) and 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS), which rose 2% and 0.5%, respectively. Pharmaceutical firm Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) was up 0.4% and telecommunications company VEON (VEON) added 0.3%.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET) and biopharmaceutical company Grifols ( GRFS ) , which fell 16% and 8.2%, respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Biophytis ( BPTS ) and brewing company Anheuser-Busch InBev ( BUD ) , which retreated 5.5% and 5%, respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) , which climbed 10%, followed by biopharmaceutical firm TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which added 9.4%. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which increased 3.9% and 2%, respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies NuCana ( NCNA ) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) , which fell 12% and 6.6%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) and Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) , which were down 6.4% and 5.5%, respectively.
