From continental Europe, the gainers were led by hotel booking site trivago (TRVG) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which rose 3.6% and 0.7% respectively. They were followed by internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which was up 0.1%.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firm Biophytis ( BPTS ) and biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) , which dropped 9.6% and 4.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Calliditas Therapeutics ( CALT ) and Grifols ( GRFS ) , which fell 3.6% and 2.7% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by financial services company HSBC ( HSBC ) , which rose 1.6%, followed by oil and gas company Shell (SHEL), which was up 0.7%.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) and Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) , which lost about 10% and 7% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and Amarin ( AMRN ) , which were down 5.8% and 3.8% respectively.
