03:39 PM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Evergy ( EVRG ) said Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with TerraPower and the Kansas Department of Commerce to explore siting Natrium advanced nuclear reactor and energy storage system in Kansas.

The partners will evaluate potential sites based on factors including community support, infrastructure, and licensing feasibility, Evergy ( EVRG ) said. The project would build on TerraPower's first Natrium project, which broke ground in Wyoming in 2024.

The agreement supports Evergy's ( EVRG ) strategy to expand non-carbon emitting power in its generation mix, the company said.
