07:15 AM EDT, 10/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cigna Group's ( CI ) unit Evernorth said Monday it launched a rebate-free pharmacy benefit that gives upfront discounts and simpler pricing to help cut prescription costs for consumers.

For people who pay the full cost of brand drugs, monthly prices are expected to fall by about 30%, with technology automatically charging the lowest available price and out-of-pocket costs counting toward deductibles starting January 2026, the company said.

Cigna Healthcare will adopt this model for fully insured lives in 2027, and it will become the standard option for all Evernorth pharmacy benefits clients in 2028, it said.

To support local pharmacies, a new reimbursement approach starts in 2026 that pays drug cost plus a dispensing fee and added compensation for clinical services across in-network pharmacies, Evernorth said.
