08:18 AM EDT, 04/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Eversource Energy ( ES ) said Friday it has executed a definitive agreement to sell its 50% stake in the Sunrise Wind project to Orsted.

After the close, Eversource will oversee onshore construction through a separate agreement but will have no ongoing ownership or financial responsibilities, the utility holding company said.

Eversource said the transaction is expected to close later this year pending regulatory approvals and contract execution with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
