Excelerate Energy Signs Deal for LNG Import Terminal in Iraq

09:45 AM EDT, 10/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Excelerate Energy ( EE ) said Tuesday it has signed a commercial agreement with a unit of Iraq's Ministry of Electricity to develop a liquefied natural gas import terminal at the Port of Khor Al Zubair.

The project includes a five-year agreement for regasification services and LNG supply with extension options and a minimum contracted offtake of 250 million standard cubic feet per day, the company said.

The total project investment is expected to be about $450 million, including the cost of the floating storage and regasification unit, the company said.

Excelerate Energy ( EE ) shares were about 1% higher in recent trading.
