Exclusive-EU aviation regulator wants FAA to join its plane audits
Jun 4, 2024 5:08 AM

BERLIN (Reuters) - Europe's aviation regulator will propose next week that its counterpart the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) joins its safety audits of Airbus planes in the region, its chief told Reuters on Tuesday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Berlin Aviation Summit, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency's (EASA) new director Florian Guillermet told Reuters he will be in Washington next week to meet with the FAA.

The aim of the proposal is, in turn, to get better access to FAA audits of Boeing ( BA ) planes and to increase information sharing more broadly.
