Expect to turn black at the end of FY19 in broadband, says Den Networks
Jul 6, 2018 5:15 AM

We expect to turn black at the end of FY19 in broadband, said SN Sharma, CEO, Den Networks.

Sharma said he welcomed the move because it shows the business potential that exists in the sector and when a big organised player comes into the sector, it draws attention to the sector.

“We have always mentioned that fixed broadband services have been lagging in India and have only 6 percent penetration. Moreover, India is a huge market space and there is space for many players to exist, to penetrate to 60-70 percent as in developing countries,” he said.

This will also bring in lot of attention, technologies to the sector and robust business models will be needed by other players in the sector, said Sharma.

When asked if will others in the industry be able to function at the price point of Rs 500 that the JioGigaFiber is likely to launched, he said for Den per se at Rs 500 the 100-city plan has been worked out and will be executing it. It is a low capex model.

“Confident of servicing the video subscribers at that price point,” he said.
