May 10, 2024 11:04 AM

01:46 PM EDT, 05/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Jurors in Philadelphia returned a $725.5 million verdict against Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) for failing to warn the public about known health risks from exposure to benzene in its petroleum products, attorneys for the plaintiff said in a statement Friday.

Law firm Waters Kraus Paul & Siegel, which represented former mechanic Paul Gill, said his leukemia was caused by exposure to benzene in Mobil gasoline and solvents while working at a service station between 1975 and 1980.

Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
