01:27 PM EDT, 06/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) said Monday it has reached an agreement with Air Liquide to transport low-carbon hydrogen produced from the oil giant's plant in Texas through Air Liquide's pipeline network.
Air Liquide will also build and operate four large modular air separation units to supply on a daily basis 9,000 metric tons of oxygen and up to 6,500 metric tons of nitrogen, which are needed to produce low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia at the facility, Exxon said.
Financial terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.
Exxon's planned hydrogen production facility is expected to produce 1 billion cubic feet of low-carbon hydrogen per day and more than 1 million tons of ammonia per year.
Shares of Exxon rose 2.7% in recent trading.
