Analysts polled by FactSet expected $3.51.
Revenue in the three months ended June 30 rose to $780.4 million from $695.5 million a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $753.9 million.
The company expects fiscal Q4 non-GAAP EPS of $3.87 to $3.99 on revenue of $780 million to $800 million. Analysts expected EPS of $3.84 on revenue of $777.7 million.
F5 projects full-year revenue growth of 9% at the midpoint, up from 6.5% to 7.5% previously, and non-GAAP EPS growth of 14% to 15%, up from 8% to 10%.
Shares of the company jumped 9.3% in after-hours trading.
