09:48 AM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- FactSet Research Systems ( FDS ) said Wednesday its near-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.

The company said it has committed to reduce scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 45% and scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030, compared with fiscal 2023 levels.

Scope 1 refers to direct and owned company emissions while scope 2 is for indirect and off-site company emissions and scope 3 for indirect value chain emissions.
