Feb 19, 2025 5:21 AM

Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. ( FFIE ) shares are trading higher premarket on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the company disclosed that it began recruiting AI specialists, particularly in large-model development and algorithm training, to accelerate its AI R&D expansion.

The company will change its Nasdaq ticker symbol to “FFAI” on March 10, 2025, and will host “FF Open AI Day” on March 17 to present its AI strategy and collaborate with industry partners on open-source ecosystems and AI applications in mobility and other sectors.

Since introducing its Faraday X (FX) strategy, the company has been actively driving a full-scale AI transformation, focusing on the integration of computing, algorithms, and data to enhance intelligent cabins, autonomous driving, and user interactions in its vehicles.

Related to next steps for FF’s AI Business, Faraday plans to advance large-model autonomous driving within an open-source framework to accelerate intelligent mobility.

The company is also fast-tracking the launch of FF AI OS to enhance intelligent cabins and user interactions with AI agents.

Additionally, it aims to integrate AI into cutting-edge mechanical platforms like Magic All-In-One and Hyper Multi-Vectoring, ensuring seamless collaboration between AI and traditional systems.

Matthias Aydt, Global CEO of Faraday Future, said, “Because of our dual-market and dual-brand strategy, FF holds a unique advantage in attracting AI talent geographically and both integrating AI technology and building a strong foundation in AI technology within our vehicles.”

“AI is redefining future mobility, and Faraday Future is at the center of this transformation. AI technology continues to evolve rapidly in both open-source ecosystems and vertical applications, FF is making significant strides in realizing its All-AI Mobility Ecosystem, Personalized AI, and Bespoke AI initiatives.”

Last month, the company presented or showed off new products, concepts, and company growth initiatives at the 2025 CES conference.

The company stated that it plans to grow with its new Faraday X sub-brand and have vehicles priced in the $20,000 to $50,000.

Faraday also plans to have the FX 5 and FX 6 vehicles priced from $20,000 to $30,000 and $30,000 to $50,000 respectively and the Super One minivan with a current undetermined price as the next models for growth.

Price Action: FFIE shares are up 5.70% at $1.67 premarket at the last check Wednesday.
